Charline Gabel, 86, Washburn, died August 23, 2016, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 10:00am Friday, August 26, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St Bismarck with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating.
Burial will be at Stewartsdale Cemetery, East of Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Thursday, August 25, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Charline was born February 18, 1930, in rural Menoken, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Brown) Malard. She grew up on a farm in Menoken. Charline married Durwaine Gabel on November 5, 1949, and to this union their three children were born, Marlys, Diane and Renae.
Charline was a homemaker, who enjoyed baking. She was well-known for her homemade buns, thus earning her the nickname of “The Bun Lady”. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and painting dish towels. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Charline is survived by her husband of 66 years, Durwaine; her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marlys (Leo) Aune, Mandan, Diane Hogue, Bismarck, Renae (Bruce) Brandner, Bismarck; her grandchildren, Trent (Stacy) Aune, Mandan, DeeAnne LaVallie, Mandan, Tammy Hogue, Bismarck, Jessica (Luke) Koch, Bismarck, 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Leon, Eugene and Elroy Malard; and two sisters, Anna Gabel and Eunice Rants.
Charline was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Irene Miller, Marie Harr, Evelyn Clooten, Norma Olson, Bertha Meyers; and one son-in-law, Gene Hogue.
