JoAnn Francis (Hedner) Easton, 85, Bismarck passed away Friday, August 26, 2016, at her home in Bismarck.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, September 2, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St., Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be held at 2:00PM Friday at North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
JoAnn was born January 20, 1931, to Irv and Agnes (Dahnke) Hedner She graduated from Bismarck High School and proceeded to earn her LPN and RN through the nursing program at Bismarck Hospital, where she was then employed. She married Jack Easton on June 7, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. After their marriage they lived in Fargo and Jamestown, before making their home in Bismarck where JoAnn returned to work at Bismarck Hospital /MedCenter One. After JoAnn retired from MedCenter One she was actively involved for years with their Ladies’ Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends in various card groups. She loved to paint, cross-stitch, sew, and make crafts for her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Blake (Jolene) Easton, Fergus Falls, MN, and Bruce Easton, Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren, Catherine, Andrew, Erin, Amanda, Victoria, Meriah, and Alicia; three great granddaughters, two nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Bette Kemper and Marlys Cohen.
