LaVerne Holle

June 8, 1922 — September 12, 2016

LaVerne Holle, 94, Bismarck, went home to be with her Lord on September 12, 2016, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, September 15, at Evangel Church, 3225 North 14th Street, Bismarck, ND, with Morris Conklin officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Wednesday, September 14, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. LaVerne was born June 8, 1922, to Albert and Helen Moltzen of New Salem, ND. She graduated from New Salem High School and Valley City State University. LaVerne married Gil Holle on June 25, 1944, and they had two children, Cheryl and Jim. LaVerne enjoyed working with children as a teacher at The Anne Carlsen School, the school for the disabled on the campus of the University of Iowa, and as a public school teacher in Almont, Mott, Kulm, and Napoleon. LaVerne faithfully attended Sunday school and church. She was always eager to learn more about Jesus and His written Word. LaVerne committed her life to Christ, was baptized, and was filled with the Holy Spirit. She enjoyed serving God by teaching Sunday school, leading home Bible studies, and praying for others. LaVerne was active in Tele-care Ministry, prison ministry, hospital visitations, hosting dinners for missionaries and the disabled, and serving as a chair person of Women’s Aglow. LaVerne authored a book, “They That Wait on the Lord Shall Renew Their Strength,” in which she shared her life story including the Lord healing her of cancer and kidney surgery. The book describes how the Lord spoke to her resulting in saving the life of her husband, Gil, and the book describes the Lord’s demands of LaVerne to tithe her income and her time, both of which she became very faithful. LaVerne enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, picnics, camping with her husband and children, winters in Florida, and visiting National Parks. LaVerne’s greatest joy was telling of God’s faithfulness, love, salvation, and healing. LaVerne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl (Wayne) Aberle; her son and daughter-in-law, Jim (Dee) Holle; grandchild, Darcy (wife Kelly) Aberle and their son, Brady; grandchild, Joshua (wife Heidi) Holle and their daughter, Nora and another great-grandchild on the way; and grandchild, Jason (wife Megan) Holle, and their sons, Finnegan and August. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gil; her parents; her brother, Al; and two sisters-in-law.
