She taught country school for one year near Wishek and then moved to Billings, MT. There she was employed with the Billings Gazette as a classified ad clerk. She married Donald Sieler in Billings, MT, at Calvary Baptist Church. They went on a honeymoon to the Yellowstone National Park. They later moved to Bismarck where she worked various part-time jobs for Robertson’s Ladies Shop, J.C. Penney’s, Burleigh County Soil Conservation office, and as an Avon lady. She then went to full-time jobs for 11 years as an accounting clerk and secretary/cashier at Capital Electric Coop. and then managed the Midwest Motor Express Employees Credit Union for 11 years. She finished off her working career as an assistant sales manager and sales associate at Sears for 8 ½ years and then retired. She enjoyed retirement and doing volunteer work. She sang and played piano with two different singing groups and later she and her husband started the "Happy Tunes" group. Arlys played piano along with Don, playing the Hawaiian guitar. They sang together entertaining the residents at all the care centers in the Bismarck/Mandan area. After Don passed away, she played piano with the Gospel Tunes. Arlys enjoyed her computer, e-mailing her children and friends. Arlys spent vacations in the Gulf Coast area where her son Jeff lived. While there, she took in the World's Fair in New Orleans. She also vacationed in Arizona with her daughter Lisa, taking in the Grand Canyon while there. Arlys enjoyed the many vacations they took as a young family through the Black Hills and the Yellowstone National Park and later the Medora weekends spent with her grown children and their spouses. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served on the deacon board, as a worship leader, and on the Women’s Mission Society board and choir. Arlys loved the Lord and enjoyed attending worship and praise services. The Gaither Singers were one of her favorite. Her grandchildren came along late in life and they were very special to her and kept her young at heart.
