Benjamin "Ben" Berg

Benjamin William Berg was born on May 26, 1998, in Bismarck, ND, to James and Carrie Berg. On October 4, 2016, while pursuing his love of duck hunting he slipped under the water and into the hands of our Lord. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 10, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 106 Osage Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Craig A. Schweitzer officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, October 9, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Ben attended elementary school at Highland Acres, middle school at Horizon Middle School, and graduated this past June as valedictorian of the class of 2016 from Century High School. He was currently a student at Bismarck State College, where he was taking the required coursework to begin pursuing a degree in pharmacy. Ben loved the outdoors. He loved to reel in a whopper or get the big buck. His favorite time of year was duck season. His other love was playing baseball. He played for many years from T-ball to Legion and Babe Ruth. He will truly be an angel in the outfield! Ben is survived by his parents, James and Carrie (Galliger) Berg, Bismarck; his grandparents, Robert and Glenda (grandma “I See”) Berg, Williston, and Clyde and Kathleen (grandma “Sweetheart”) Galliger, Bismarck; his uncles, Charles (Mira) Galliger, John (Sara) Berg, Daniel (Michelle) Berg; his aunt, Rebecca (Vaughn) Cornell; his cousins, Ryan and Meghan Galliger, Chelsea, Cody and Emma Berg, Katelynn and Jaren Berg, Kaleb and Hannah Cornell; great-aunts and great-uncles; his special friend, Teresa Fricke; friends and teammates and their families. Ben was welcomed to Heaven by his great-grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 106 Osage Ave., Bismarck, ND, 58501.
