Chester Giese, 86, Steele, died October 8, 2016, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele, ND. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm Thursday, October 13, at Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.
Chester Howard Giese was born May 24, 1930, in Elgin, ND, the son of Daniel Jr. and Etta (Mayer) Giese. He was raised and educated in Elgin and later in Steele, where he graduated in 1949. Chester married Lorraine Junker on July 23, 1954, in Steele. He farmed and ranched in the Steele area along with working industrial construction. Chester was an adventurous person who enjoyed playing pinochle, auction sales, and in his younger years playing pool.
Chester is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Steele; his sons, Lloyd Giese (friend, Monika), Steele, ND, Llewellyn Giese, Corpus Christi, TX, and Lynn (Lora) Giese, Grove City, OH; his daughter, Diana (Frank) Dalton, Baraboo, WI; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; his goddaughter, Lynnette Berry; his former son-in-law, Don Flath; his brothers, Eugene (Hilda) Giese, Fargo, and Raymond (Janet) Giese, Redding, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Etta; his brother, Clifford (Jessie) Giese; an infant brother; sister, Veronica (Robert) Kramer; sister-in-law, Evelyn Price Giese; son-in-law, Fredrick Deitelhoff; and daughter-in-law, Jolene Giese.
