Donald L. Eman, 83, Bismarck, went to Heaven on October 10, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 17, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 615 E Turnpike Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Lester Wolfgram officiating. Cremation has taken place. Donald was born in Coleharbor on May 7, 1933, to Fred and Lydia Eman. He graduated from Underwood High School in 1951. Don married Shirley L. Doepke in Washburn on September 21, 1952, to this union two sons, Michael and Stanley and one daughter Cheryl, were born. While married he worked on the construction of the Garrison Dam and the Mandan Refinery. He worked with Camp Brothers Heating & AC, and retired from the Mandan Refinery after 33 years. During his employment with Amoco, he and Shirley spent a year in Egypt while he helped build a refinery there. After retirement he did woodworking, gardening, and helping family in their farming. Don enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley, Bismarck; his sons, Michael (Kimberly) Eman, Denver, CO, and Stanley (Laurie) Eman, Houston, TX; his daughter, Cheryl (Ed) Koc, Woodland Park, CO; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
