Justine “Tina” Woodward, 90, Bismarck, passed away October 15, 2016, at home in Bismarck. Cremation has taken place and burial has taken place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Justine was born November 2, 1925, in Murphy, NC, to Fred and Coy Johnson. She graduated from Murphy High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was employed by the Navy Department in Washington, DC, where she met her husband, who had been recalled during the Korean conflict. They were married March 9, 1952, in Murphy, NC. The couple moved to Bismarck in 1953, and Tina worked in the business office at St. Alexius and for Mobil Oil until the birth of their son. She was a stay-at-home mom but worked as a volunteer at Medcenter One for forty years, belonged to McCabe United Methodist Church, the Republican Women, League of Women Voters, D.A.R., and numerous other clubs and organizations. She was an active member of the American Contract Bridge League, and played in tournaments in the U.S., Canada, and France. Tina was dearly loved and very proud of her family, James Jr., Minneapolis, MN, Daniel and his daughters, Laura, Erin, and Kimberly, Madison, WI. Tina was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Woodward; her parents; her daughter-in-law, Vickie; and her two brothers.
