Patricia “Pat” Bender, 64, Mandan, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family due to complications from PSP (a form of Parkinson’s.)
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, October 26, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan. Burial will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.
Pat was born January 5, 1952, in Mandan, ND, the daughter of George and Maggie (Martin) Haider. She graduated from Mandan High School in 1970. On June 24, 1972, she married Doug Bender in Mandan where she lived and raised her family. She worked in the medical field for most of her career whether giving patient care or administrative assistance. She also sold Avon for over 30 years.
Pat’s world was spending time with and supporting her husband, kids, grandkids, and pets. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, baking, taking drives, going to the casino and playing card games with family and friends until the wee hours of the morning. She will always be remembered for being a kind soul and loving angel to all of her family, friends, and to all who knew her.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Doug; her children, Missy (Matt) Pierce, Bismarck, Todd (Tina) Bender, Farmington, MN, and Chad (Cozette) Bender, Mandan; her six grandchildren, Jesse, Payton, Tucker, Kelbie, Coy, and Lexa; her sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Keller, Bismarck, and Debra (Kelly) Radke, Aylett, VA; her brothers, Bob (Brenda) Haider, Bismarck, and Tracy (Raeann) Haider, Lincoln; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Haider; her grandparents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; and many aunts and uncles.
