Kathleen Patricia “Kay” McDonald, 90, Bismarck, passed away at her home on November 25, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, at 11:00 am at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Ave, Bismarck, with Deacon Tony Ternes officiating. Burial will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Kay was born on December 20, 1925, the daughter of James and Maude Hogan. Her father passed away in 1928, and she was later adopted by her mother's second husband, Albin S. Anderson. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1943 and entered the Bismarck Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing in the fall of that year. Kay graduated with a nursing degree in June 1946 and worked at Quain and Ramstad Clinic for 23 years. She married the love of her life, Adrian “AJ” McDonald, on January 29, 1948, and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary before AJ passed away earlier this year. Kay and AJ were the perfect example of a loving and devoted couple and you rarely saw one without the other. Together, they proudly raised three sons, and especially enjoyed following them and later, their grandchildren in their various sports at St Mary's Central High School. Kay is survived by three sons, Michael (Cathy), Gregory (Jean), and Stephen; five grandchildren, Stacey (Dusty) Seamands, Scott (Keliann) McDonald, Andrew (Tara) McDonald, Kelly (Ryan) Mackey, and Erin (Jake) Christensen; 13 great-grandchildren and her 14th expected in January. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; her parents; her brothers, James and Andy; and her sister, Janice. Memorials can be sent to the ND Veterans Cemetery.
