James Hoffart

James Frances Hoffart, 75, Bismarck, ND, passed away on November 29, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 9, at the Baptist Health Care Center, 3400 Nebraska Dr., Bismarck, with Rev. Merle Hoots officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, December 8, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. James Frances Hoffart was born May 17, 1941 and raised on a farm in Benson County. Moved to Harvey until 1956 when the family settled in Bismarck, ND. He worked at the family owned business, Corral Drive-In Theater for years and another twelve years in a carpentry shop, Jamestown, ND. In 2012, he experienced nerve damage due to a fall, leaving him wheelchair bound. February of that year he moved into the Baptist Home in Bismarck, ND, where he lived with loving care until he passed. James is survived by his sisters, Aggie Barclay, Janice (Lee) Moum, and Geri Dockter; a brother, Micheal Hoffart; nieces and nephews, Patti Roberts, Bob Barclay, Diane Husco, Craig Barclay, Jeff Moum, Lisa Eckholm, Jason Moum, and Adara Dockter; great and great-great nieces and nephews, Shane, Chasity, Kyle Preston, Mathew, Amanda, Angela, Brian, Kayla, Jared, Collin, Jayden, Larissa. Chase, Conner, Carson, Emma Rae, Taylor, Ryder, Dahlila, Thia, Presley, and Kenzo. James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katherine (Piatz) Hoffart.
