Jeanne Woeste, 89, died December 4, 2016 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 8, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Wednesday, December 7, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary service will begin at 7:30 pm.
Jeanne Beverly Woeste was born February 2, 1927 to Michael J. and Alice (Hanson) Tschida in Glen Ullin, ND. She lived in Glen Ullin until she graduated from high school and went to work for the Navy Dept. in Washington, DC. She returned to work at a bank in Mandan, ND. After her marriage she worked with her husband at the Glen Ullin Creamery.
She married Virgil Woeste on June 3, 1946. They adopted and raised 7 children. Jeanne was active in Christian Mothers, Lionesses, Homemakers Club, Girl Scout leader, Bridge Club, Bowling, Religious Education teacher and school volunteer. When Virgil retired they moved to Alexandria, MN and then moved back to Bismarck where she lived for the last 29 years.
Jeanne spent her life caring for her children. Every day there were home cooked meals and homemade snacks. She sewed clothes for her family and ran a very busy household. Her children were always allowed to have company in the home so many times it was a household of 15.
Painting was her favorite pastime. She took art lessons for 20 years and shared her pictures with her loved ones. She loved music and dancing. Many treasured moments were made at Lake Tschida every summer with family and friends. Jeanne was very proud of her grandfather Michael Tschida Sr. who was the founder of Lake Tschida.
Jeanne is survived by Beverly(John) Renner, Omaha, NE; Lynnette Blakeman, Bismarck, ND; Jane (Mark) Mosbrucker, Bettendorf, IA; Sharon (Dean) Rohrich, Bismarck, ND; Robert(Kay) Woeste, Glen Ullin, ND; Gina Woeste, Poulsbo, WA.
Loving Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who enriched and brought endless joy to Jeanne’s life were: Michelle Blakeman, Jack and Harlow Pitts; Tyler(Val) Woeste, Lauren, Makenna, Kate; Samantha(Dusty) Mattson, Jacob, Lucas; Tamsen(Kuhaku) Caravalho; Kai, Makoa; Alyssa (EthanSkowronski-Lutz)Kilzer; Scott Kilzer; Chris Kilzer; special grandson, Ryan Holtan.
Her living and oldest sister is Arlene (Frank) Beilage in Clearwater, FL. Another sister Edith Rodvold died on the same day as Jeanne did in Colorado Springs, CO.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, her children: James, Michael and Jane Anne, her parents and her sister Sonya Magstadt.
Memorials given to the family will be forwarded to Primrose for the many years of wonderful living they provided for Jeanne.
