Delores "Dee" Peterson

Delores “Dee” Peterson, 87, Bismarck, died December 3, 2016, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday , December 8, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1143 N 26th Street, Bismarck. Family will be greeting visitors from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 7, at Valley View Heights Chapel, 2500 Valley View Dr., Bismarck, as cremation has taken place. Dee was born January 5, 1929, in Max, ND, the daughter of Ted and Lillian (Lee) Torgerson. She was raised and educated in Max. She later moved to Bismarck where she worked as a phlebotomist at Q & R Clinic. It was there that she met the love of her life, Rodney “Pete” Peterson, and they were married on September 4, 1949. The couple settled in Bismarck. After raising three children, Dee went to work at Bismarck High School in the office, where she worked until she retired. Following her retirement, the couple spent much of their time at their lake cabin on Lake Isabel, and volunteering at their church. Dee was very involved with the PEO chapter in Bismarck. She loved to entertain and cook for family and friends here in Bismarck and at the lake. Dee is survived by her husband, Rodney “Pete” Peterson, Bismarck; her daughter, Debra and Pat Haar, Colorado Springs, CO; her sons, Brian Peterson, Bismarck, and Bruce and Tammy Peterson, Rio Verde, AZ; her grandchildren, Jon and Heather Haar, Colorado Springs, CO, Allison Haar, Colorado Springs, CO, McKenzie “Mick” and Brittany Peterson, Bismarck, Alex Peterson, Eden Prairie, MN, Thea Peterson, Bismarck, Michael Peterson, Los Angeles, CA, and Jordan Peterson, Phoenix, AZ; and five great-grandchildren, Kasey, Meghan, Caitlyn Haar, and Elilia and Brixton Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Eric Haar. Memorials may be given to Lord of Life Lutheran Church or the Bismarck PEO Chapter.
