Richard Iverson

Richard Iverson, 90, Bismarck, N.D., passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Missouri Lutheran Home. Born in Bismarck to Clinton and Alexandria Iverson, he lived his entire life in Bismarck. Richard graduated from Bismarck High School and spent four years enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He volunteered on many community projects and served in several veteran organizations. As a Brakeman for the Soo Line Railroad until his retirement, Richard loved to spend summers at the lake with family and friends. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and entertaining but his true passion was gardening. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irene Iverson; son, Stephen (Sonja); daughter, Cheryl Anderson; grandson, Neal Anderson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Mark. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be cremated and the family will hold a private burial service in the spring.
