Jean Colton was born September 30, 1920, at Driscoll, ND, the daughter of Loran and Mathilda (Christianson) Martin. She was raised and educated in rural Kidder County, and lived there until her marriage to Roy Clifford Colton on November 1, 1941, at Bismarck. They farmed near Driscoll until 1951, when they moved into town. Cliff died in Bismarck on February 22, 1980. Jean moved to Bismarck in 1992 and later back to Driscoll in 2008.
Jean was a member of the Driscoll Methodist Church. She served as chairperson for the Ladies Aid, and volunteered for alter service. She enjoyed her involvement with the Driscoll Homemakers Club. While in Bismarck, she attended First Methodist Church and joined their Bible study group. Gardening, reading, going for walks, cooking, baking, and canning were the things Jean took pleasure in.
Of greatest love to Jean was caring for her family. They dearly loved her and will deeply miss her.
