Mitchell “Mitch” Craig Heiden, 55, Bismarck, died unexpectedly December 14, 2016, at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, December 19, at Church of the Ascension, 1825 S 3rd St., with Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 18, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 4:00 pm.
Mitch was born on September 19, 1961, in Carrington, ND, to Mary (Koller) and Alvin Heiden. He was the middle of 9 children. Mitch suffered with asthma throughout his childhood. He graduated from Carrington High School in 1979, where he participated in wrestling and football.
He married Colleen “Coke” Kautzman on August 14, 1992. Together they had three children: Raymond, Daniel, and Erin. Mitch worked for Inland Truck Parts for 28 years. He was a salesman in both the Bismarck and Tulsa, OK, stores. In 1996 he became manager of the Bismarck store. Mitch enjoyed his job and the many people he got to work with.
Mitch enjoyed lazy drives in his Mustang with the top down, watching NASCAR and the New Orleans Saints, listening to his vast music collection, and participating in his kid’s events. He also enjoyed taking long naps on the couch with the family dog, Frankie.
Mitch is survived by his wife and wonderful children; his mother, Mary Heiden, Fargo; his sisters, Jeanette (Howard) Wilson, Fort Morgan, CO, Allison (Brad) Jordet, Fargo; his brothers, Steve (Becky) Heiden, Vincennes, IN, Neil (Carla) Heiden, Spicer, MN, Joel (Susie) Heiden, Grand Forks, Garth (Stacie) Heiden, Fargo, Matt (Barb) Heiden, Fargo, Chuck (Nicki) Heiden, Fargo; his mother-in-law, Patricia Kautzman, Bismarck; his sister-in-law, Amy (Kim Nalder) Kautzman, Sacramento, CA, Gwen Kautzman, Bismarck; his brother-in-law, Matt (Stacey) Kautzman, Rock Springs, WY, and numerous nieces and nephews who he truly loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Heiden; his father-in-law, Daniel Kautzman; and his niece Dreya Heiden.
