William “Bill” Smith passed away at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck on December 22, 2016. He was born in Landstuhl, Germany on June 18, 1970. He was a natural athlete in all sports, but he had an incredible passion for hockey. His dry, quick-witted sense of humor was very infectious. He was very quiet and private, but would talk endlessly to people he trusted. He survived some very horrible events in his life that no one should be forced to endure (mentally and physically). He always remained positive because he knew the real truth, regardless of what others thought. Bill is survived by his two sons, Brody and John; his girlfriend, Trudy; his parents, Shelly and Tom Walker, and Doug and Ranee Smith; his sister, Peri (Keith) McMeans and their three boys; his grandmother, Margaret Meek; and many relatives in his extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Merle "Buck" Meek on December 20, 2016. As per Billy's wishes, there will be no funeral service. His only wish was that his sons will grow up knowing that he loved and missed them more than anything.
