Edwin Lacher, 88, Bismarck, passed away on January 2, 2017, at Wishek Living Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N. 2nd Street, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating.
Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Edwin was born on October 2, 1928, in Linton, ND, to Frank and Marie Lacher. He was raised and attended school in Linton. After graduating from Linton High School, he went on to attend teacher’s college in Ellendale, ND. After teaching for a short period, he entered the military and served during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he married Donna Naumann in 1953. They made their home in Bismarck where he went to work for Bell Telephone Company until he retired in 1983. He also owned his own company, “Lacher Alarm Co.”, during the 70s through the early 80s. Edwin went on to manage the Amvets before he completely retired.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Donna of Bismarck; his sons, Jeffery (Lynda) Lacher of Centennial, CO, Teri (Colleen) Lacher of Girard, KS, Thomas Lacher of Bismarck, and Gordon Lacher of Bismarck; his daughters, Paula (Mike) Fahlsing of Mandan, Kathy (Bill) Knudson of Bismarck, and Valerie (Gary) Richards of Minot; his grandchildren, Joe Fahlsing, Erin (Evan) Deichert, Joshua Knudson, Trevor Knudson, Sarah (Jeremy) Dinius, Jessi Lacher, T.J. Lacher, Colby Delzer, Jeannie Delzer, Crystal Delzer, and Ashley Lacher; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Lacher, Adley and Hazel Dinius, Zion Rebollosa, and Zayden and Relena Zietz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Lacher; his brothers, Leo Lacher, Leslie Lacher, and Terrance Lacher; and his sisters, Eva Chown and Kate Miles.
