Ted was born October 11, 1932, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Walter and Clara (Rosenbeck) Ryberg. He grew up on a farm near Baldwin and attended rural schools and Bismarck High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1953 – 1957 while being stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base at Shreveport, LA.
Ted purchased a farm at Wing, moving there in the spring of 1958. He lived there until moving to Edgewood in Mandan in September 2016. Ted and Marilyn Lehto were married on March 1, 1964, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wing.
Ted was a farmer at heart, and especially enjoyed making hay. He taught his boys to build a good four-wire fence as he was involved in making many miles of new fence. Ted helped organize several farming bees for fellow farmers who needed help. Ted enjoyed deer hunting every year, getting a buck the fall of 2015, the last season he was able to go. Ted discovered the joy of reading in his retirement years; keeping count of the number of pages he read instead of the number of books.
Ted was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wing.
Ted is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his sons, Mark, Forman, ND, and Corey (Denise), Wing; brother, Alfred (Myrna) Bismarck; his sister, Sylvia Cowan, Aurora, CO; sisters-in-law, Lavonne Ryberg, Rochester, MN, Patricia Ryberg, Bismarck, Ellen (Lehto) (Jerry) Liddle, West Fargo; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Junius, Raymond, Wallace, Cecile, and Connie; and Marilyn’s parents, Emil and Vieno Lehto.
