Jim McCone Jr., 47, Bismarck, passed January 24, 2017, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 30, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Pastor Trisha DeBoer officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Sunday, January 29, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a time of sharing will begin at 6:00 pm.
Burial will be held in the spring at Regan Cemetery, Regan, ND.
Jim was born in Mandan, ND, on April 20, 1969, to James and Belinda (Van Vleck) McCone. He graduated from Center High School and attended Bismarck State College for one year. After college he worked various ranching jobs around the area. On July 30, 2005, he married Beth Uhde of Wing. During their 11 years, they were blessed with two children, Addyson Rose in 2006 and Stetson James in 2009.
Up until last year, Jim worked for Northern Improvement for six years. He was an active board member of Wing Horse Club, and a die-hard NDSU Bison and Minnesota Vikings fan. Jim enjoyed watching the PBR and any rodeo with Stetson and watching Addy in her various sports and Girl Scout activities.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth, and their two children, Addyson and Stetson, Bismarck; two brothers, Bill (Kerry) McCone, Hebron, and Pat (Cindy) McCone, Bismarck; his in-laws, Otto and Linda Uhde, Regan; one brother-in-law, Tom (Alicia) Uhde, Bismarck; three nephews and two nieces, Tyler (Heather) and Chase McCone, Brooke McCone, Carsten and Emory (goddaughter) Uhde; two great-nieces, Hadley and Olivia; two uncles and one aunt, Tom (Mae), Lincoln, and Bob (Betty), OR, and Gevi Utzinger, WA; and numerous cousins throughout the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
