Anton “Tony” Horner, 80, Bismarck, passed away on January 29, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Tony was born March 11, 1936, the son of Frank and Eva (Glatt) Horner. He grew up on a farm southwest of Napoleon. In 1958 Tony married Phyllis Gross and they moved to Bismarck. He started employment for the State of North Dakota as a heavy equipment operator, where he worked for 36 years. Tony liked to play cards, build Popsicle stick lamps, and enjoyed his nightly game shows, Millionaire and Jeopardy.
Tony is survived by his children, Calvin (Deb) Horner, Hastings, MN, Vivian (Leslie) Gress, Center, ND, Sharon (Jim) Boehler, Bismarck, and Gary (Lisa) Horner, Plymouth, MN; his children’s mother, Phyllis Horner Babnick, Bismarck; two brothers, Ken, Bismarck, and Raymond (Peggy), Mapleton, ND; two sisters, Violet, Omaha, NE, and Caroline, Ogden, KS; longtime companion, Theckla Klein; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Milton.
