Evelyn Alma Ziegler, 86, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 3, 2017, at Knife River Care Center in Beulah, ND.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born on November 4, 1930, in Hebron, ND, to George Rudolph and Helen (Krawcyk) Raber. She was raised and attended school in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School. She then attended Dickinson State College and received her teacher’s certificate. After college, she taught at a country school near Hebron and would stay with various families. Evelyn was a secretary at Hebron Brick Company where she met Henry Ziegler and the two were married on December 19, 1952 in Hebron. The family moved to Bismarck in January 1963 where Evelyn worked for Bianco Fabric, and then Herbergers as a department head, retiring in the mid-1990s.
Evelyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, and ceramics and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Evelyn is survived by her five children, Diane (Dean) Easton, Dale (Judy) Ziegler, Linda Mees, Carol Ziegler, and Rita (Dana) Wright; her cousin, Frances Becher; her grandchildren, Mitchel Berry, JenniferVinje, Dawn Easton, Michael Easton, Erin Mees, Katie Mees, Cole Mees, Lauren Mees, Bret Mees, Jesse Mees, Nikkie Bushaw, Danielle Berry, Jayden Ziegler, and Jordan Ziegler; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Pederson, Kali Reuther-Berry, Breier Berry, Cody Vinje, Leif Bushaw, and Nash Bushaw.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ziegler; three brothers, Rudolph, Ernie, and George Raber; and one sister, Marie Buck.
