Lorraine D. Hojian, 81, Bismarck, died February 8, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, February 13, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Les Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Sunday, February 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 5:00 pm.
Lorraine was born May 11, 1935, the daughter of John and Mary (Hochhalter) Zelmer. She attended school in Estherville Township, Regan, ND, and graduated from Regan High School in 1955. She then attended Capital Commercial College. During her career, Lorraine worked for the Bank of ND, Yegan Dairy, Gold Seal, and North American Coal. She later owned and operated Penny’s Lift Trucks Repair with her husband, Penny.
Lorraine married Johnnie Paul in 1960 and he passed away in 1971. She married Penny Hojian on June 30, 1979. Lorraine loved spending time at the couple’s lake home on Lake Isabel and in the summers could be found digging in the dirt and lovingly caring for her hundreds of flowers.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Penny; her daughter, Linda Paul; granddaughter, Annie Hojian; brother, Vernon (Evelyn) Zelmer; sister, Sharon Roth; sisters-in-law, Laura Nunn, Harriet Finch, and Edie Hojian; brother-in-law, Alvin Hojian; her step-children, Rick (Jerri), Marty (Judy), Jeff (Joanne), and Jodi; five step-grandchildren, Sabrina, Curtis, Stephanie, Eric, and Aaron; and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; her first husband, Johnnie Sr.; son, Johnnie Jr.; grandson, Richard “Ricky” Hojian; sisters, Doris Crane and Elaine Savenko; and brother, Phil Zelmer.
