Ruben Tetzloff, 88, Bismarck, died February 9, 2017.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, February 15, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, at Eastgate Funeral Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Ruben was born September 20, 1928, the son of Gustav and Pauline (Hintz) Tetzloff. In 1947 he entered the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Ruben married Viola Johs on February 21, 1953, in Bismarck, at Church of St. Mary. Ruben and Viola lived in various cities including, Billings, MT, and Riverdale, ND, before finally settling in Mandan, where they raised their children. Ruben spent the majority of his career as a plumber, welder, contractor, and a home builder.
He was a member of the Elks, VFW, American Legion, and the Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 300. Ruben enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and gardening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family, especially at Christmas time, his favorite holiday.
Ruben is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Kevin) Kiemele, St. Paul, MN; his sons, Ronald (Laurie), Auburn, IN, Randall, Boise, ID, and Robert, Bismarck; his grandchildren, Robert Jr. (Kristi), Mandan, Rachelle (Ross), Mandan, Kristen, Fargo, Sarah, Boise, ID, Meachelle, Minot, and Lachelle, Minot; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin (Renee); sisters, Rosemary, Ann (Bob), and Anita; and his loyal companion, his dog Oreo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, on January 28, 2006; his brothers, Art, Fred, Ray, and Reiny; and his sisters, Elma, Adeline, Evelyn, Polly, and Arlene.
