Josie Gregoryk, 92, Bismarck, died February 16, 2017, at Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Church of St. Anne in Bismarck with Rev. Wayne Sattler and Rev. Shannon Lucht officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wilton.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Josie was born on August 11, 1924, in Montpelier, ND, the daughter of Herbert and Martha (Janz) Cumber. She was raised and attended school in Montpelier and graduated from Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND.
After college, she moved to Bismarck where she worked for Provident Life. Josie married Andrew William Gregoryk in Montpelier on October 16, 1948. They farmed in the Wilton area for many years. After Andrew died, she moved to Bismarck in 1989.
Josie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, needlework, sewing, gardening, and baking. She made great cookies. In her later years she enjoyed NFL football. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Josie is survived by her children, Claudia (Dennis) Ewine of Wilton, Virginia (Leo) Schneider of Fergus Falls, MN, William (Linda) of Bismarck, Joyce (Randy) Schwartz of Bismarck, Ronald (Elizabeth) of Wilton, Lawrence of Bismarck, Lori (Richard) Martell of Belcourt, and Garrett (Kerry) of Ankeny, IA; her son-in-law, Steve Lee; her sister, Norine Naze of Montpelier; her sister-in-law, Alice Cumber; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her parents; one daughter, LuAnn; one grandson, Nathan Schneider; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold (Betty) Cumber and Robert Cumber; and one brother-in-law, Chuck Naze.
Josie’s family would like to thank the Baptist Health Care Center for the exemplary care they provided to her during these last few weeks.
