Mildred Moeller, age 103, of Fargo, passed away on February 16, 2017, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo.
A memorial service will be held on March 18, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Bismarck.
Mildred was born to pioneer Burleigh County parents, Lynn and Idella Rodgers Sperry, on October 12, 1913, in Bismarck, ND. Raised on a farm on River Road north of Bismarck, she attended public schools in Bismarck. After her graduation from Bismarck High School in 1931, she was employed by Dakota Public Service until her marriage to William S. Moeller on August 12, 1939. She and William spent their entire married life in Bismarck. William died in 1999 and she moved to Fargo in 2009.
Mildred was a member of Chapter F, PEO sisterhood, and Wednesday Mothers’ Club. She was also a deacon of First Presbyterian church of Bismarck and served in the women’s circle.
She particularly enjoyed working in her garden, where she grew roses, lilies, and numerous other flowers, which she shared generously with others. She was fond of reading, playing bridge, entertaining and restoring antique furniture. She liked music and theater productions. With her husband, she travelled to foreign lands as well as many places in the United States and Canada. She was a loving and compassionate woman who cherished her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children Pru Olson, Fargo; Gretchen (Darrell) Maloney, Maple Grove, MN; and Lynn (Barbara) Moeller of Minnetonka, MN; and her grandchildren, Betsy (William Leaf) Maloney and their daughters, Sawyer and Skyler; Erin (Ryan) Wagner and their children, Olive, Sam and Victoria; and Ali Moeller, all of Minneapolis, and Benjamin Moeller, Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Clara Borman and Frances Benson; and one brother, Eugene Sperry.
