Our beloved Mark Kennedy, 54, Bismarck, went to the arms of Jesus on March 4, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 8, at Century Baptist Church, 205 Colt Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Nather officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 7, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mark Allen Kennedy was born on August 15, 1962, in Omaha, NE, to Roger and Donna Kennedy. He came to know the Lord when he was just eight years old, and remained strong in his faith. The family moved to Bismarck in 1971. He attended Bismarck Public Schools, Cono Christian School in Walker, IA, and graduated in the first graduating class from Shiloh Christian School. In the summer of 1980, he served at Teen Missions in Scotland, spreading the word of God. Mark then went on to attended Grace College and later attained a job with the North Dakota State Government where he worked for 16 years. Mark was a kind, caring, genuine man, who was used by the Lord to touch many lives. His faith, even in his dark times, impacted numerous amount of people, and his legacy for Jesus will live on.
Mark was a loving husband, son, uncle, father, and grandfather, who spent much of his time with his family. Mark met the love of his life, Judy Baron, and married her June 27, 1987, and they had three children. Mark was a creative man. He spent his time at home with the kids doing crafts and having sock fights. Mark was always doing a project on something. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting baseball cards and comic books, playing softball, and played golf daily with his loyal companion, Judy.
Mark was a kind, caring, gentle soul who loved our Lord and Savior and his companion Judy. He was wise and always had sound advice. In the midst of a storm, he was calm and collected.
Mark will be dearly missed by his wife, Judy (Baron) Kennedy; his son, Matthew Kennedy; his daughter, Elizabeth (Wes) Opitz; his parents, Roger and Donna (Davy) Kennedy; his brother, Craig Kennedy; and his grandsons, Konnor, Kristopher, and Isaac. Mark is also survived by other numerous family members.
Mark was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Kennedy.
Mark’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
