She was their first child. Olga grew up on the family farm and was joined by sister Pearl and brother Harry. She grew up during the Depression, helping her dad with farm chores, trapping, and ice skating. She boarded with several families in Wilton so that she could attend Wilton Public School. There she was active with Ukrainian dance classes and her family was active in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Olga married Donald C. Noon on June 14, 1944, and they bought his parent’s farm on Grass Lake, northeast of Wilton. Together they raised two children, Deborah and Donald J. They were life members of the American Angus Association and raised commercial and registered Black Angus cattle. She was a co-leader of several Wilton 4-H clubs and chaperoned for Lake Isabel 4-H camp; was a Wilton band committee member and co-authored the band’s fundraising cookbook. She and Donald were members of the First Presbyterian Church for many years and she was a circle member. They were also active in politics in their district and many dinner table conversations included lively political discussions. Olga loved research and genealogy and traveled many miles visiting church and county courthouse records. She traced the Noon, Newman, and her Ukrainian heritage back hundreds of years. Olga’s later years were stolen by dementia. However, some of her favorite memories included her grandchildren, Jesse (Sabrina) Noon, Emily Noon (Kol Harsche), Michael (Etta) Knuth, and Matthew Knuth. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Landon, and Dawson Noon, Olivia and Madisyn Harsche, Garrett and Levi Knuth; her son, Donald (Pauline); daughter, Deborah (Bill) Knuth; sister-in-law, Judy Basaraba; nieces, Karla Wolff, Bonnie Basaraba, Mary Kay Oschner, Donna Lind; and her nephew, Dwayne Noon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C.; her parents, John and Mary Basaraba; her sister, Pearl; her brother, Harry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Pearl Noon; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
