With joy and dignity, Carol Ann Christenson, 74, Driscoll, went home to her heavenly Father on April 18, 2017.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Driscoll, with Pastoral Minister Gail Haggerty officiating.
Carol was born on September 7, 1942, in Steele, ND, to Cliff and Jean (Martin) Colton. She attended school in Driscoll and graduated from Driscoll High School. Carol married Ron Christenson on September 24, 1960, and became an active farm wife. After moving to Bismarck, she pursued a career in management. Prior to her retirement from Cenex, she and her significant other, Jim, moved back to Driscoll and Carol enjoyed the time it allowed her to spend with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids….each one having a special place in her heart.
She continued to pursue her hobbies and interests which included crafting, antiquing, gardening (especially flowers), scrapbooking, sewing, music, and caring for her special pets. She greatly enjoyed daily life in her small community, participating in church and local events, living next door to her brother and his family, and taking care of her mom. Carol appreciated the love, support, and companionship of her longtime partner, Jim Olson, his sons, and their families.
Carol is survived by her daughters, CaRon (Don) Christenson, Chattaroy, WA, and Connie (Bill) Klesalek, Mandan; her sister, Sharon (David) Toepke, Judson, ND; her brothers, George Colton, Bismarck, Dave (Dora) Colton, Driscoll, Myron Colton, Bismarck, and Bob (Deb) Colton, Bismarck; her grandchildren, Shannon Decoteau, Jesse Wamsley, Ronda Christenson, Brenda Christenson, and Jamie Berger; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion and special friend, Jim Olson and his family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Jean Colton; her sister, Barbara Jean; and her grandson, Cory Berger.
