Adeline (Addie) Lucille Schwalbe died on April 21, 2018. The service of her life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church Bismarck, 14th and Ave C, on Friday, April 27, at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck on Thursday, April 26, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, with a service of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott at 2:30 pm MT. Adeline (Addie) Lucille Schwalbe was born on August 26, 1948, to Emanuel and Leona Schmitt. She graduated from Mott High School in 1966. She went to cosmetology college and worked for a while as a hairstylist. Addie also worked in fabric retail for a period of time before going to work at what was then Q and R Clinic (now Sanford), where she worked until her retirement. Addie married Loren Schwalbe on June 19, 1983. They lived in Mandan until 2015 when they moved to Bismarck. He died on Jan 2, 2017. Addie loved serving God at Faith Lutheran Church, particularly as communion assistant. She enjoyed a vast community of friends and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She was a social butterfly and became instant friends with everyone she met. Addie loved to have fun and make others laugh. She loved the Three Stoooges-in fact she was “Larry” as part of a trio with a cousin and friend who were Moe and Curly. Several accomplishments which gave her great pride were being godmother to her nephew Travis Terjesen, being named a “Bold Woman” in her church, and receiving the 2014 Sanford Support Services Employee of the Year award. Addie leaves behind her brother, Dennis Schmitt (friend Joann Schwartz), Jamestown; sisters, Lynette Terjesen and Lucinda (Jeff) Malm, Kulm, ND; brothers-in-law, Carl and Rolland (Brenda) Schwalbe, Center; and several nieces and nephews. Addie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and numerous relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, Camp of the Cross Ministries, Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café, or the donor’s choice.
