Albert Winckler

Albert Winckler, 91, New Salem, went to heaven on September 28, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 10:30 AM, at Peace Church, 410 Elm Ave, New Salem with Rev. Joshua Eddy and Rev. Joel Winckler officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 1:30 to 2:30 PM, at Elm Crest Manor, 100 Elm Ave, New Salem. A public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Peach Church. A Prayer Service will begin at 6:30.

Burial will be held at a later date due to weather.

Albert was born in Morton county on October 8, 1927. He was educated at the country school. On November 2, 1949 Albert married Norma Lennick and together they had two children, Sharon and Curtis.

Albert farmed and ranched northwest of Blue Grass. Albert enjoyed his farming years caring for the animals, riding, and breaking horses. Albert was very active serving on the board of his church.

When Albert moved to town, he enjoyed and was very proud of his garden. Albert’s pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his daughter, Sharon Kitzmann; his grandchildren Jason, Grant, and Trevor Kitzmann, Casey Winckler, and Laikyn Neilsen; great-grandchildren Kayla, Lainey, Jadyn, Katelynn, Brainna, Paisley, and Kamri Kitzmann; sisters Gertie Unruh and Doris Voegele; and one brother Garmon Winckler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; son Curtis; brothers Rueben, Aaron, and Edwin; and sisters Erna Unruh, Edna Wetzel, and Hilda Peltz.
