Alice Albrecht, 91, died April 17, 2018, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, April 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele, ND, with Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Burial will be at Glueckstal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, April 20, at Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel, Steele, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Alice was born in Streeter ND, on February 26, 1927, the daughter of Adolf and Pauline (Neumiller) Fondrick. After a short time, they moved to Dawson, ND. Then at the age of 6 she and her family moved to Steele ND. Alice started working at a young age as a waitress at the Woodlawn cafe in Steele. On June 20, 1948 she married Christopher Albrecht, and they lived on a farm, southeast of Dawson. There they raised their 7 children. She was kept very active raising her family and assisting with farm activities. They raised cattle, sheep and lots of chickens. She made some of the very best Fried Fresh Chicken, Chicken and Dumplings, Borscht Soup, Pigs in the Blankets, Pork Roast, Kuchen, Plachinda, and Cheese Buttons. In 1991 she and her husband Christopher moved to Wishek ND, and Christopher passed away that same year. In 1997, Alice moved to the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Bismarck, ND. After breaking her hip, she then moved to the Nursing Home in Underwood, ND. When the home in Underwood closed in 2013, she moved to the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, ND. She was very active in many activities there, with her favorites being Bingo and putting together jig saw puzzles. Alice is survived by her five sons, David (Kathy) Mandan ND, Kenneth (Karen) Carrington ND, Curtis (Debby) Bismarck ND, Donald Lamoure ND, Ray (Tonya) Spanaway Washington; two daughters, Ruth (Robert) Kleppe Dawson ND, Linda (Lynn) Schauer Bismarck ND;16 grandchildren and their spouses; 27 great grandchildren and their spouses; one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Lorraine (Claudia) Fondrick Salem Oregon, and Marvin (Mary) Fondrick The Dalles Oregon; a nephew who was like a brother, Eddie Moser Bismarck, ND. All her nieces and nephews were very dear to her. Alice will be reunited with her husband, Christoper; her son Duane, two great grandchildren, Gunnar Ihringer and Jacob Fitterer; her sister, Leona Moser, and her brother, Allen Fondrick.
