Alice (Fuchs) Chmielewski, 89, Bismarck, formerly Carson, North Dakota passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017 at Prospera Community Sunset Drive. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 13, at 10:30 am at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Burial will be 2:00 pm central time, at Leith Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:00 pm, on Sunday, November 12, visitation will continue one hour prior at Parkway Funeral Service. Alice Spangenberger was born March 1, 1928, the daughter of Otto and Johanna (Zimbleman) Spangenberger on the family farm south of Carson. After attending schools at Thain and Brisbane, she worked on the family farm. On October 16, 1946, she married Lawrence Fuchs in Elgin, North Dakota. They made their home in the Paradise Flats area until 1952 when they moved to Carson. Lawrence passed away May 31, 1979. Alice worked as a child care provider and later in the home health care industry. On May 14, 1988, she married Louie Chmielewski in Bismarck. They enjoyed gardening, rummage sales and other hobbies. Louie passed away May 16, 2017. She is survived by her children Gary (Nancy), Washburn; Ronn (Jolette), Jamestown; Bonnie (Jim) Wingenbach, West Fargo; step children Lavern (George) Walls Pennsylvania; Dale (Kathy), Alan (Kathy) and Steve (Connie) Chmielewski all Bismarck; Barb (Larry) Rueb, Richard, Robert (Brenda) and Michael Rouse, all Bismarck; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters Hilda Schatz, infant sister Agnes and husbands, Lawrence and Louie.
