Alice was born March 15, 1931 in Mercer, ND, daughter of Philipp and Mary (Martin) Wall. Her parents died at a very young age. Alice and her three brothers, Lenhart, Marvin, & Walter moved to Bismarck and were raised by their Grandparents, Philipp and Katerina Wall.
Alice attended Bismarck High School and later worked at Montgomery Wards and Sears in downtown Bismarck. She later worked at the lunch counter at the Greyhound Bus Depot in downtown Bismarck. Early in 1952, Alice met the love of her life, Bill Daniel, who was working at the adjoining Barber Shop. He told her that he would pick her up for a date that evening & they married later that year.
Family & friends were very important to Alice. She was a caring mother to daughter Gail and son William (Bill) and a very proud grandmother to Britney (Daniel) Deuth and Taylor Daniel. Alice adored the grandkids and enjoyed taking them to Medora, the State Fair & local carnivals every year. Britney & Taylor enjoyed many overnight stays at Gramma’s. Christmas at Grandmas was always over the top with 25 different cookies and bars. There were presents galore & Santa always knocked on the door Christmas Eve. Alice loved to decorate for all the holidays.
Alice rarely sat still…she was always cleaning, cooking, baking and cleaning some more. Shoes were always left at the door. Planting flowers was a yearly task she enjoyed along with knitting & crocheting afghans to share with family & friends.
Alice loved to attend Britney & Taylor’s sporting events including track, gymnastics, baseball, basketball & soccer over the years.
Alice started working for the State of ND as a Data Input Operator III when Gail & Bill were in High School. She worked for the State of ND Motor Vehicle Dept. & the Dept. of Transportation, and retired in 1993 after 23 years of service.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Gail, son, William (Bill) & daughter-in-law Bonnie Daniel. Grandchildren Britney (Daniel) Deuth & husband Peter, Taylor Daniel and great granddaughters Brielle & Millie Deuth. Great grandson, Harvey James, born May 19th. Survivors also include a beloved brother Walter Wall & wife Mary and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her husband Bill, and brothers Marvin & Lenhart Wall.
