Alice Lenora Voegele, 88, passed away Feb. 1, 2021 at Baptist Health, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck. A service livestream will be available on the church’s website: https://www.faithbismarck.com/
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck.
Burial will be held 12 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Alice was born Aug. 5, 1932 to August F. and Pauline (Muller) Dockter in Streeter. She attended school in Streeter. On Nov. 20, 1953, Alice married Daniel Voegele and they began farming in the area. In 1965, they bought a farm 14 miles northeast of Bismarck. They moved into Bismarck in 1979. Alice was a bookkeeper for many years while helping Dan out on the farm. She retired as a bank teller from Gate City Federal Bank.
She really enjoyed taking care of her yard, gardening and especially growing flowers. Music was another of Alice’s loves. She sang in the church choir, with the Sweet Adeline’s, Barbershop quartets and gospel music.
Alice was a member and officer of the American Legion Auxillary. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary. After Dan’s passing on March 8, 2004, Alice started volunteer work at MedCenter One. Alice was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and served on the Fellowship Board. She was also a participant of many homemaker clubs.
Those most honored to share in her life are the Dockter nieces and nephews, Linda (Todd Frey) Cose, Kindred, Ronda (Tim) Erbele, Streeter and Sandy (James) Bordeaux, Raleigh, NC; several Voegele nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Genie Voegele, Linda Voegele and Pearl Voegele and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents; brother, Lawrence Dockter and an infant brother and sister and her niece Pamela Dockter.
