Aloysius "Al" J. Moszer

Aloysius J. Moszer, 98, Bismarck, passed away November 7, 2017, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, November 18, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, November 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.          Aloysius Joseph was born in Strasburg, ND, on March 31, 1919, the son of Peter and Barbara (Schumacher) Moszer.  He was raised in Emmons County, Strasburg, ND, and later his family moved to Bismarck.  On December 2, 1940, Al enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard A/164th Infantry.  He served in the military for four years and four months in the South Pacific Theater of Operations. After returning from the service he did various jobs working for Bismarck Grocery, driving an ambulance for a Bismarck hospital, he drove a city cab, and later became a painter and did construction work.  On May 28, 1946, he married the love of his life, Regina Rohrich.  Together they had 12 children. For his pastime, Al was a drummer in a band.  He also enjoyed calling bingo at the Eagles Club and loved painting (paint by number) pictures.  He had been a resident at the Baptist Health Care Center since 2005. Al is survived by his five daughters, Arlene (Richard) Vranicar, Lincoln, ND, Linda (Ronald) Ehrlich, Jamestown, Peggy (John) Zambrano, Woodbury, MN, Alberta (William) Voegele, McClusky, and Vicki (Randy) Schillinger, Colorado Springs, CO; five sons, Larry (Brenda), Lincoln, ND, Tom (Joyce), Bob, and Terry (Tanya), all of Bismarck, Aloysius (Christie), Watertown, SD; brother, Jerome Moszer, Bismarck; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina; an infant daughter; his son Michael; two infant granddaughters; his parents; and his brothers, Eddy and Ervin Moszer. Thanks to the staff on Morning Star at the Baptist Health Care Center for the special care given to Al.
