Alvin was born on March 31, 1948 in Linton, ND. The son of Ray and Ann (Holzer) Belverstone. Alvin was raised in Linton until 1961 when the family moved to Bismarck. Bismarck was his life-long home.
Alvin graduated from Bismarck High School on May 23, 1967. He then went on to work for the Super Valu Stores as well as Cashwise in Bismarck as a baker. When he retired from the baking industry, he enjoyed staying busy with lawn care and snow removal services. Each time he went to mow a lawn you could see the sparkle in his eye as he felt the warm sun. He felt joy and happiness as he mowed each lawn.
Alvin married his best friend and soulmate, Patricia Ehli, on October 21, 1972. He was blessed with two daughters, Tonya and Trina; who then blessed him with four granddaughters, Savannah, Taylor, Haylie and Maysah; and two grandsons, Tayton and Terrek. All who were the joy and light of his life.
His greatest treasures in life were hanging out with his family, family get togethers, hunting, fishing, camping and doing his yearly yard sale so he could enjoy and just talk to all who came by.
Vacationing with his family was a true highlight for him. One great event he really enjoyed were the many trips to Minnesota to see a great Viking’s game (win or lose). SKOL forever.
Alvin was deeply loving, tenderhearted and considerate with a laugh that made you smile.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia, Bismarck; daughters, Tonya (Logan) Anderson and Trina (John) Powell, both of Mandan; six grandchildren, Terrek, Savannah and Maysah Powell, Tayton Maher, Taylor and Haylie Anderson; brothers, Val Belverstone and Frank Belverstone, both of Bismarck; sisters, Darlene Gruchalla, Mandan, Trish (Dennis) Jose, Bismarck, and Cindy Erickson (special friend Larry Morgan), Mandan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Ann Belverstone; mother and stepfather-in-law, Eva & John Swanson; father-in-law, Frank Ehli; sisters-in-law, Sheila Tibke and Betty Belverstone; and brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Ehli.
Alvin will be deeply missed by all who knew him but will remain in all of our hearts until we meet again.
