Alvin Hepper, 71, of Bismarck, passed away August 29th, 2018 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 5th, at 1:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday September 4th at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Alvin was born September 22, 1946, in Mandan, the son of Rudolph and Rose (Mattis) Hepper. He was raised on the family ranch southeast of Selfridge, ND and graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1964. He then served six years in the Army National Guard. Alvin married Donna Harris on February 27th, 1968. They farmed and ranched southeast of Selfridge. They later purchased the Hepper Family Homestead where Alvin continued to live out his dream as a farmer and rancher until his retirement in 1995. Later, Alvin moved to Bismarck and met Jerry McCormick. They resided in the Bismarck area for 18 years where Alvin stayed busy sharing his farming and ranching stories and his love for pinochle with his many friends until his passing. Alvin is survived by his wife, Jerry, Bismarck; his sons, Marty and Dusty; his daughters, Vicki and Liz; his grandchildren, Jackie, Kacie, Logan, Hudsyn, T.J., and Dandee; his brothers, Willie, Rudy, Harold, and Stan; his sisters, Emma and Norma; and many nieces and nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Calvin, Adolph, Ronnie, and Eddie; and his grandson, Justin.
