She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1977 and the University of North Dakota in 1981 with a degree in elementary education. After finishing her degree, Amy moved to St. Gertrude to begin her teaching career. There she met Myron Loeb, and they were married on February 11, 1984, in Bismarck. They had three children, Tyler Jake, Logan Allen, and Erin Ann.Amy had a long career as an elementary school teacher, spanning 35 years. She began teaching at Leahy Elementary School in St. Gertrude, where she taught kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades for 14 years in addition to holding a short role as Principal. Following the closing of Leahy, Amy taught kindergarten for four years at Cannon Ball Elementary School in Cannon Ball, ND. In 1999 Amy began teaching 4th grade at McIntosh Elementary School in McIntosh, SD, where she taught until her retirement in 2017. During her 17 years at McIntosh, Amy made many lasting friendships, attended a number of conferences, held another short role as Principal, and helped establish an after school and summer school program.Outside of school, Amy was an active member in her local community. From 1993 until 2008 she was a fellow leader in the local Sagebrush Riders 4-H club, in which her children participated. Over time her duties grew to include assistant judging and helping with the horse show at the Grant County Fair. Her other service to the community included running the local fruit co-op for over 25 years. Finally, Amy had a rich home life. Every year she planted a garden and looked to her kids for inspiration, which led to several years of growing giant pumpkins. Amy was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking for her family. She will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies, zucchini cake, and zucchini bread, which she could turn out almost every other day when the garden was at its peak. During the school year, evenings not spent grading papers and making lesson plans were devoted to reading and various arts and crafts projects, many of which would be adapted for the classroom. Amy did all of these things and more in between helping her husband on the farm. She was no stranger to the dairy barn, field work, or cattle. Amy is survived by her husband, Myron Loeb, Raleigh, ND; her son, Logan Loeb, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her daughter, Erin (Adam) Ourada, Center, ND; and grandson, Blake Ourada. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Loeb; her parents, Earl and Eunice Seifert; her father-in-law, Lorenz Loeb; and her brother-in-law, Darien Loeb.
