Andrew William Lidstrom III, was born January 5, 1946 in Bismarck, to parents Donna and Bill Lidstrom II. Andrew attended school in Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School. On June 24, 1967, Andy married Linda Marie Bullinger, in Mandan where they made their home with their two daughters, Anne Michelle and Erica Joy.
Andrew worked early in his career for his father-in-Law, Leonard Bullinger, at Bullinger Tree Service in Mandan, and later as an estimator/designer in the Home Building Industry, starting at the Lumber Yard in Mandan, followed by Mitzel Builders, Sattler Homes and finally, Menards, where he retired in June of 2023.
Andrew had a strong love of history, classic cars, western movies, building, and making his yard a respite for family gatherings. He would often recite world history to his children and grandchildren, or anyone who would listen. As a father and grandfather, he would always find a way to make pumpkin carvings and school valentine boxes for his children and grandchildren extra special. He also designed a first place award winning float for the Mandan Centennial Independence Day Parade, which was a replica of the Far West River Boat. Andrew was also a Veteran who served in the North Dakota National Guard and received an honorable discharge on November 16, 1970.
If he wasn’t building something for his family, he could be found making sure his yard was picture perfect. He took great pride in his yard and lawn tractor and he was so proud to see his grandson learn how to use it. He was an avid boater and he spent many summers with his family cruising the Missouri, helping all of the kids catch toads, and enjoying the long summer nights which, we will always treasure.
His love for his family was always known. He was so proud of his granddaughter Allison for making the varsity track team, his grandson Jack for his baseball skills, and his grandson Oliver for their shared love of history.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Lidstrom; his daughter, Anne(Brian) & Allison Carter, Mankato, Minnesota, daughter, Erica (Brandon) & Jack and Oliver Cermak, of Bismarck, sister-in-law, Mary Bullinger, brother-in-law, Leonard (Helen) Bullinger and brother-in-law, David Fetch, of all of Bismarck.
