Anna M Miller

May 9, 1938 — March 20, 2025

Anna Maria Miller, 86, passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2025 with family by her side. She fought a battle against cancer with determination and grace.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, March 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Following the service, the family invites you to join them for fellowship, coffee and baked goods.

Burial will be held at 2:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Anna was born in Barringen, Czechoslovakia on May 9, 1938. Shortly after, the family fled to Germany during the occupation of Czechoslovakia. She was raised in Bad Hersfeld, Germany along with her parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

Anna met Edward Miller during his time in Germany in the military. They married, and enjoyed several years of being stationed in various Army bases before settling in Dickinson after their daughter was born. The family relocated to Bismarck in the late 80s when Anna worked as a property manager for several apartment buildings. Anna and Edward enjoyed friendships with coworkers from Department of Corrections where Edward worked as a security officer. They especially enjoyed making memories with their lifelong friends, Les and Jana Everitt. Anna and Edward were thrilled to be godparents to Les and Jana’s daughter, Nicole.

Once Anna’s grandchildren were born, she became a doting grandma and was happy to spend all her free time with Matthew and Madison. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Sertoma Park where they made many special memories.

Anna was living independently mowing and watering her yard, painting her home and was the self-appointed neighborhood watch. She was grandma to all the neighborhood kiddos. Last summer, her lawn was declared yard of the month - an honor she was proud to bear.

Anna touched the lives of so many including her immediate and extended family and friends who she loved deeply. Her years were full of love and care thanks to her bestie Kris Meidinger’s friendship and attention to Anna’s every need.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Pam (Alan) Reile; grandson, Matthew and granddaughter, Madison; beloved sister, Irene; brothers, Hans and Albert; and Godchild, Nicole Erhardt.

Anna was preceded in death by her dearly missed husband, Edward Miller; her parents, Albert and Melitta Eigler; brothers, Rudi, Franz, Josef, Walter, Heinrich; and sisters, Gretl and Else.
