April was born on September 21, 1966 in Jamestown, ND. She attended school in Bismarck and Jamestown where she graduated high school in 1984. April loved children and for 16 years she touched their lives while operating a daycare. Her home was also the hub of neighborhood and was a welcoming place for the kids to congregate. During these years April loved that she had the opportunity to be home with her own children.
In her thirties she went back to school. After obtaining an Associate Degree from Bismarck State College she went on to manage Stamart/Petro Service USA in Mandan, ND for 15 years. April’s sunny disposition and generous heart touched many at the station. This was very evident with the many customers who lovingly came to see her during her lengthy hospital stay.
April enjoyed cooking and could make a fabulous strudel, she was fun natured and loved a good joke, she also lived for a great sale and to her a double coupon find was like winning the lottery.
After April’s most courageous battle with cancer, she was lovingly welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2020. Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
The family would like to say a special thank you to New Song Church. Your congregation and staff went above and beyond throughout April’s illness. When it comes to being the hands and feet of Jesus, you knocked our socks off! How blessed she was to have you as her church family. Also a special thank you to Pastor Adams of United Methodist Church, Mandan, ND for his many visits.
Sanford’s 7th floor nurses and support staff’s genuine care and concern was not unnoticed by our family and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held at New Song Church in Bismarck, ND on Saturday February 29 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m.
