Ardys Morris, 88, Mandan, formerly of Williston and Ryder, died January 14, 2018, at Miller Pointe- A Prospera Community, Mandan. Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 22, at First Presbyterian Church, 310 3rd Ave NW, Mandan, with Pastor Kevin Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Sunday, January 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Ardys was born in Garrison, ND, on July 14, 1929, the daughter of Arnold and Edith (Bjork) Hill. She grew up on the family farm near Roseglen, ND, and attended Ryder High School. On March 29, 1946, she married Donald L. Morris in Sidney, MT, and the couple made their home in Ryder. Ardys worked for Great Plains Supply and after 30-plus years retired from the Williston office. Following her retirement, Ardys and Donald enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV. They wintered in Mesa, AZ, and enjoyed spending their summers at Deep Water Bay, Lake Sakakawea. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Churches in Ryder and Mandan, where she served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, and on the Ladies Aid. Ardys enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and visiting. Ardys is survived by her husband of 71 years, Don, Mandan; four children, Sandra (LeRoy) Peterson, Ryder, ND, Donnette (Kent) Strange, Florissant, CO, Steve (Marge) Morris, Lake Charles, LA, and Ronald Morris, Miles City, MT; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Morris, Spearfish, SD; 12 grandchildren, Deanna (Bob) Reikow, David (Cindy) Peterson, Carolyn (Kevin ) Munns, Toby Morris, Tarrah (Beau) Barbour, Leah Terrell, Kesha Strange, Shannon (Darren) Guess, Jennifer (Jimmy) Andrews, Justin (Cydney) Morris, Jacob (C’Anna) Morris, and Angela (Kasey) Kirby; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Norma (Glenn) Berg, Minot; her sisters-in-law, Julie Hill, Grand Forks, and Martha Morris, St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Morris; her parents; and her brothers, Royce, Kenneth, and Gordon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 1825 46th St., Mandan, ND, 58554, or the Ryder Historical Museum.
