Arnold (Arnie) James Moch

Arnold (Arnie) James Moch 72, Bismarck, died in his home peacefully on Saturday December 1, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, December 6, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, 801 1st St SE, Mandan, with Rev. Todd Kreitinger officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Arnie was born September 23, 1946, to Joseph P. and Magdalena (Wald) Moch. He was raised on the family farm near Braddock, ND, and graduated high school. On May 11, 1968, Arnie married Gloria Backhaus at Saint Katherine’s Church in Braddock, ND. Arnie and Gloria continued living on the family farm milking cows and farming. In 1991 Arnie and Gloria moved to Bismarck. Arnie started working at Fargo Paint & Glass as a window installer, and in 2011 he retired.

Arnie was a sports lover who played amateur baseball and basketball. After retiring from his own sports, he enjoyed going to family sports events. He loved doing construction and woodworking projects. When he was not spending time with family he enjoyed shopping at Menards. His children and grandchildren were very special to him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Gloria of 50 years; his son Todd Moch (Laura Lee) of Bismarck; daughter Shelley (Cody) Stramer of Bismarck; and son Brant Moch (Jessica) of Bismarck; grandchildren Isaiah, Ashlee, Jager, Ryder, and Xander; two sisters Angeline Erhardt and Delores Laursen; one brother Clarence (Elizabeth) Moch; sisters-in-law Jean Moch, Joann Kleinknecht, Ramona (Robert) Eckman; and brother-in-law Kenney (Katy) Backhaus.

He was preceded in death by parents Joseph P and Magdalena; his brothers Edward and Andrew; his sister Rosalie; his nephew Loren Moch; and his two brothers-in-law Matt Erhardt and Virgil Kleinknecht.
