Arnold Lyle Edinger, 92, Bismarck, ND passed away November 4th, 2024 at Edgewood Vista in Bismarck, ND.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at Engage Church, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Arnold Lyle Edinger, 92, Bismarck, ND passed away November 4th, 2024 at Edgewood Vista in Bismarck, ND.
Arnold L. Edinger was born on March 3rd, 1932 in Benedict, ND, the son of Jacob and Julia (Reichenberger) Edinger. Arnold attended rural schools and graduated from Minot High School. He went on to graduate from Minot State Teacher's College and North Dakota State University. Arnold served in the Korean War in the United States Air Force as a Ground Radio Operator and was in the United States Army Reserve.
Arnold married Glenius O'Neill of Kenmare, ND on August 27th, 1960 in Kenmare, ND. They moved to Mandan, ND in 1961 in part, to help keep the doors of the Mandan Church of the Nazarene open. He dedicated much of the rest of his life to the Mandan Church of the Nazarene.
He worked at the North Dakota State Industrial School from 1961 to his retirement in 1995, teaching courses in science. Known by his students, friends and customers of his many business endeavors as Mr. Ed, Arnold had a passion for serving people through his many interests, including farming, hay hauling, pressure washing, leather working, sign making, and tractor, bicycle and mobility chair refurbishing.
Arnold enjoyed skiing, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling, calligraphy, oil painting, drawing, amateur radio, playing guitar, banjo and piano, telling jokes and playing pranks on friends and family.
Arnold is survived by his sons, Nyk (Rosario) Edinger and Mike (Lisa) Edinger; grandsons, Killian (Sarah) Edinger, Ian Edinger, Adrick Edinger, Bryton Edinger, Landon Edinger, Braxton Edinger and great-grandson, Rellian Edinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenius Edinger; daughter, Baby Edinger; sisters, Elsie Berg, Freida Fischer, Edna Duerre, Lily Moseng, Esther Bauer, Sylvia Leitner, Lorraine Willoughby; brothers, Eldein, Clarence, Vernon, infant brother, Samuel and infant sister, Martha.
He dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through loving and serving his family and friends and all he came in contact. He will be greatly missed by all.
