Arnold "Arnie" Seitz

Arnie Seitz, 69, died August 24, 2017, at his home in Bismarck, ND.  A memorial service will be held at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Arnie was born to Edwin and Mavis (Guthmueller) Seitz of Bismarck, ND, on April 5, 1948. Arnie was raised in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1966.  He went on to attend the University of North Dakota, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration and Accounting.  A few years later he moved to Oklahoma where he attended Central State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. After receiving his Computer Science degree, Arnie worked for over 15 years in Oklahoma and Texas.  First, for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and then for American Airlines where he provided computer programing development and management services.  Arnie moved back to Bismarck in 1995 to continue his computer programming career, becoming Vice President of Vision Technology, Inc. before he and his partners sold the company.  Arnie then took the position of IT Coordinator at the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System where he worked for over 14 years until his retirement in 2015. Arnie was an avid golfer and photographer, often providing his creative talents to friends.  He was a truly gifted artist.  He was also passionate about flying, having spent numerous hours piloting small aircraft.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and made people feel better just by his smile and positive energy.  Arnie took the time to listen to others, often times over a cup of coffee.  He deeply cared about those he loved.  He will be missed dearly by family, friends and associates. Arnie is survived by his brother, Steve; nephew, Aaron; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mavis.
