Barbara “Barbie” Ann Bentz, 74, was born on February 9, 1948 and went to be with the lord on June 8, 2022.
Barbie was raised in Dunn Center, North Dakota, and attended school in Dunn Center and Killdeer, graduating in 1966. She then moved to Grand Forks and later to Dickinson, where she raised her four daughters. Barb attended Dickinson State University, graduating in 1993 with a degree in Elementary Education.
Barb’s true passion was serving our Lord and Savior, which led to her spending 15 years as the church secretary at Our Savior Lutheran until her retirement. She spent her remaining years in Mandan with some of her close friends and family.
Some of Barb’s greatest joys were spending time with her friends and family. She cherished her daughters and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to talk about them to everyone she met.
Barb will always be remembered for her passion of serving the lord, her gracious love and kindness, and her smile that lit up a room.
She is survived by her daughters, Naomi (Perry) Vinson, Spokane Valley, WA, Nadine (Kent) Hildebrand, Mandan, ND, Michelle (Ryan) Navrat, Spokane Valley, WA and Amanda (Jamie) Dickerman, Jamestown, ND; grandchildren, Lawrence and Chase Wilson, Kelsie Hildebrand, Dakota and Keegan Navrat, Janae Brenneise, Isaac, Lucas, Josh and Karter Dickerman and Chandler Wells; great grandchildren, Kamryn and Tyler Wilson; siblings, Fammie Heupel, Carrie (Wayne) Oukrop, Robert Benz, Nick (Becky) Benz and Tom (Twila) Benz; brother-in-law, Albert Pavlicek and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Janet and Reuben Benz; brother, Reuben Benjamin Benz; sister, Debbie Pavlicek; brother-in-law, Kirk Heupel; son-in-law, Larry Wilson and nephew Anthony Pavlicek.
