Bonnie Jensen (Mandan) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2018 at St. Alexius Hospital. Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at First Lutheran Church in Mandan on Friday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Christina Martin officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Church until the time of the service. Barbara Lynn “Bonnie” Miller was born August 22, 1960 in Norwich, CT to Fenton and Nancy Miller, with an older sister Kathy and a younger sister Liz, the three girls and their parents lived across the U.S. as part of her Father’s Naval Career. It wasn’t long after she arrived before her Mother started to call her, “my little Bonnie”. She attended high school in Charleston, SC. Later moving to ND to be near her Mom who was an elementary school teacher in Hazen for many years. She studied at Bismarck State College after which she began a career as a legal secretary and administrative assistant working for the States Attorney of Grant County, Bucklin Trial Lawyers, Rolfson Law Firm, Secretary of State Al Jaeger, and finally HIT– all while continuing to work alongside her husband in his business, Professional Property Inspections. She met her husband, Scott F. Jensen, in Bismarck in 1980. They enjoyed many adventures skiing together and visiting Mexico before marrying in 1990 and raising their family in Mandan. As a family they spent many happy summers at their lake cabin on Blue Lake. Bonnie had a unique artistic talent for scrapbooking, card-making and a vision to bring art alive with ordinary objects. She embraced her vocation as wife, mother and grandmother with patience, grace and love - enrobing her family in it every day. Bonnie was a woman of great faith. God’s peace, and her favorite hymn, Amazing Grace, provided an inner strength through the trials of breast cancer and its treatment. She enjoyed the long ND summer days and how they provided for her beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens (especially this past summer) - along with her family, these things brought joy and comfort to her through her last days. She will be missed and her memory will be treasured by her husband Scott F. Jensen, Mandan, son Clinton Jensen, Fargo, daughter Amy Jensen, Mandan, stepdaughter Lyndsey Tungseth (Jake), Fargo, grandchildren Cally, Kambri and Gabriel. Her sisters Kathy Nielson (Jeff) Hazen, Liz Braunagel, (John) Bismarck, her brother Courtney Miller and Stepmother Margie Miller (Florida), Aunt Nellie Brademeyer (LaMoure) Uncle Dean Pulfrey,(Hecla, SD) 12 nieces and nephews, many friends and neighbors.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Breast Cancer Research with Susan G. Koman.
