Barbara Smith

Barbara Smith, born on August 25, 1962, in Pennsylvania and passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 14, 2025 in Bismarck, ND.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 15, at the Dream Center, 1805 Park Ave, Bismarck. 

Barbara was raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in 1980, Barbara married Thomas Smith in 1981. Their journey began in Pennsylvania where she supported Thomas during his service in the Navy. In 1985, they moved to California, where they created a cherished home together until Thomas concluded his military service in 1986.

Known for her warm and loving personality, Barbara filled her days with joy and laughter, often found enjoying her favorite pastimes such as reading and watching reality television shows, particularly those on Bravo and the Real Housewives franchise. A simple pleasure that brought her immense joy was sipping on a cold Coca-Cola. A beloved figure in her family and community, Barbara's life was dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren, who were the center of her universe.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of her family. She will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. 

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, Bismarck; daughter, Nicole (Daniel) Paul, and their two children, Meadow and Connor, MN; son, Sean Smith, Bismarck; daughter, Shannon (Jeremy) Dietz, and their daughter, Gabrielle, Bismarck; and siblings, Debra, FL, Thomas and Brian, DE.
