Bernadine Bush

Bernadine Bush, 83, passed away May 2, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Bernadine “Bernie” May Bush was born March 24, 1940, to John and Bernadine Antich in Joliet, Illinois. She married Glen Bush in 1962. She was the youngest of five siblings and grew up living above her parent’s greenhouse in Rockdale, Illinois. It was there that she developed a love for flowers. She earned her florist certificate and would later work as a florist. Bernie enjoyed spending time boating in the summers with her husband and two children. Bernie and Glen retired to Florida to be near their son and enjoy the warmer weather. After her husband passed, Bernie moved to North Dakota to be near her daughter and spend more time together. Bernie loved being a mother and enjoyed watching her kids become parents and getting to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Richard) Huelsman; son, Brian (Carrie) Bush; six grandchildren, Mechelle Lund, John Huelsman, Teri (Beanie) Scherr, Nicole (Joel) Maier, Kali Bush, Madison Bush; and nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, John, Justin, Grayson, Caleb, Kaden, Kaia, Griffin, and River.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings, Dorie, Normie, Bobby & Shirley.
